What is polystyrene(PS) and its advantages

Polystyrene(PS) plastic is a naturally transparent thermoplastic that is available as botha typical solid plastic as well in the form of a rigid foam material. PSplastic is commonly used in a variety of consumer product applications and isalso particularly useful for commercial packaging.   General-purpose polystyrene is clear, hard,and rather brittle.

As athermoplastic polymer, polystyrene is in a solid (glassy) state at roomtemperature but flows if heated above about 100 °C, its glass transitiontemperature. It becomes rigid again when cooled.
